STILL lookin for a sol

hey fellas! I posted a thread looking to see if anyone was selling their del sol or knew of anyone a while back. Well..i'm back once again for the same reason. Yes i've been looking at autotrader. i've been on it daily and along with every other car site you can think of. Jst havn't been having the best of luck with gettin a sol.
Well anyway, onto the point. Just trying to see if there's any sols that yalls know fo currently up for sale and are decently priced. Not too into already modded cars so as close to stock would be appreciated. Also, i havn't been able to find a sol with a straight body the last few times i checked out a sol. Straight body meaning there's no leaks or frame dmg to the car. i can deal with fender bender type of damage but nothing serious. anyway, before this gets long, please, any help works!!! thanks!

Have you tried seattletimes? There are usually sols for sale in there. Also what kind of price range are you looking for and what model. Obvious everyone wants a DOHC vtec but not realistic if you only got say 3-4K.

yeah i have tried seattle times. i'm more leaning towards a si model because of price. i'm not a fan of b16 engines and would end up swapping out the b16/d16 in the future anyway. right now, depending on model, condition, and what kbb.com says the car's value is, my price range is somewhere between $2k-$5k.

I'll give you some info now since i'm gonna leave for the day...

Its a 93 S (with a d16z6 motor swap but my d15b7 tranny). Swap was done by a reputable shop, only has 2k miles since the swap and 42,000 in all. Body has 134,000 on it. The paint is still shiny but it does have quite a few rock chips in the front and the plastic trim is starting to fade but not too bad. As for the interior, drivers side seat is worn, needs to be reupholstered or replaced, other than that the interior is in great shape. I have an Alpine CDA-9805 HU with 4x Infinity Reference 6002i speakers, which sound great. I put a rubberized compound beneath the carpet in the car and also put fatmat under the doors and behind the seats. Bass is better road noise is much less. Oh and I put poly-fil in the air holes that connect the trunk and cab. I also have a no name air intake, dc sports ceramic coated header, obx b pipe exhaust. I have 14" black steelies with Bridgestone Potenzas on there now but I could include some 16" Z-Racing 9 spoke rims if you wanted. Also I just got a dropzone suspension (shocks and struts) put on it by the same shop who did my engine swap. I also have PIAA headlights.

All in all the car is in good shape (4 of 5 stars). Drives like a new car, I'm selling because basically I want a 92-94 hatchback.

Hey, check out Hinshaws Honda on auburn way. I picked up the 97 Si, but they still have a red 93 Si, it looked pretty clean too. It has 147k miles, wich is ok for a 93. They are asking for $6,900 but they would probably take $4-$5 for it.

Yeah, $6900 for a 93 sol with 147k is a bit rediculous to me. I got my sol from a private seller for $3,800, Si, and 99kmiles on it. So i'm pretty happy with my purchase.

That's a nice price. I paid $3K for my '93 and am nickel-n-dime'ng myself to the poor house trying to find little pieces here and there. [img]frown.gif[/img]
